Tiffany Kemp, Devant’s managing director, is an engineering graduate with a Masters Degree in Business Law. She has a strong operational and technical background built up during a career including Product Development, Support and Sales roles in Racal and Anite Telecoms. As Commercial Manager EMEA for Convergys, a global supplier of telecoms billing solutions, she negotiated many complex £multi-million contracts in various jurisdictions around the world. This combination of technical, commercial and legal experience enables her to deliver strong, commercially and operationally sound deals to Devant’s clients. Tiffany founded Devant in 2003 to provide pragmatic commercial and contractual support to small and medium-sized companies, and the company has since assisted over 400 companies to structure, negotiate and manage more effective commercial relationships. In 2006 Tiffany expanded the company’s offering to establish Devant as a leading provider of commercial contract and negotiation training to businesses, charities and Government bodies.
Roger Huckerby started his career as a graduate engineer with BT, going on to attain an MBA while building a successful export sales team for a cutting-edge technology company. He brings extensive senior management and sales experience to the team, having worked for UK, US, and European businesses, principally in the telecoms and IT sector. These businesses range from high-growth technology start-ups through to large multinationals. Roger has extensive experience of setting up and managing sales distribution in the UK and EMEA, the sale and purchase of companies, and the restructuring of businesses. He has been responsible for securing high value contracts for the supply of products, services, and bespoke solutions and brings a sound understanding of the commercial issues involved in all these key business activities.
Peter Hume has a strong IT background having started his career as a physics graduate with Galileo International. He then moved to Accenture where his scope included software developments (£25m+), outsourcing, and business planning. He brings a blend of business requirements, IT service delivery and commercial experience that helps clients not only control contract costs but ensure appropriate support is in place for business operation and growth.
Alison Taylor has extensive experience in negotiating excellent manufacturer-retailer relationships as Sales Manager for Black and Decker, and sales and account management roles in BIC and other large manufacturing companies. Her years at the sharp-end of deal structuring and contract negotiation make her a formidable asset in Devant’s growing team. Alison supports Devant clients in all areas of commercial contract drafting and review, but has a particular specialism in the area of data protection.
Janine Scott has extensive consultancy and project management experience in the City, working for Dresdner Kleinwort Benson and through her own consultancy business. With this experience and her background in IT, both gained in a complex financial environment, Devant’s clients can be confident in Janine’s attention to detail and her ability to keep sight of the bigger picture in the process. Janine supports Devant clients in all areas of commercial contract drafting and review, but has a particular specialism in the areas of shareholder agreements and related transactions.

Richard Everitt is a commercially orientated Chartered Management Accountant, whose background is financial & general management, specialising in profit and cash flow maximisation. His roles have included Financial Director and Company Secretary of a Fairey Group subsidiary where he conducted contractual negotiations for multimillion pound, multi-year supply agreements with international aerospace companies.
Andrew Hall is a mathematics graduate with a highly successful career in senior level sales and general management. In roles spanning blue-chip companies such as Sema Group, Accenture and EDS (now owned by HP) Andrew led teams delivering significant growth in sales of managed services, systems integration and professional services. His talent for lateral thinking enables him to add great value as a problem-solver, both in dispute resolution situations and in finding creative solutions to contractual issues. His in-depth understanding of the issues around the sale and delivery of software and services, particularly in public sector organizations, makes him a valuable addition to the Devant team.
Jeff Dean joined Racal as a graduate engineer before moving into sales & company management. Over the next 25 years Jeff held various VP and MD positions of US Companies in Europe, where he negotiated purchase agreements, software licences & maintenance/service agreements with many major European based companies including Nokia, Siemens, Alcatel, and Ericsson. Jeff is also a specialist in Dispute Resolution. Jeff is currently working with a number of entrepreneurs helping them to obtain investment and get their new products to market.
Nick Morris has a background in Mechanical Engineering and spent 16 years of his early career with Oxford Instruments plc. In 2000 Nick moved to Serck Controls Limited where he assumed responsibility for China operations which included project delivery and securing payment on a World Bank funded water project in Shanghai. In 2003 Nick joined the Institute for Independent Business where he offered specialist services to the Construction Industry particularly in Adjudication. Nick is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and The Adjudication Society and recently was awarded a Certificate in Adjudication from the College of Estate Management, Reading University.
Jane Domhill has come to HR through the media route, with clients including Channel 4, BSkyB and the BBC. She can assist with staff selection and recruitment, staff training, motivation and appraisal, as well as the contractual areas of employment.
Hilary Oliver has a background in the IT and software industries, and has managed disaster recovery operations in technology as well as people (!). She is an experienced HR manager who has helped many companies to manage change in a positive manner, bringing together disparate business cultures to achieve positive results.
Tim Howe is able to assist our clients with mediation and dispute resolution. He has a great deal of experience dealing with ACAS and assisting clients in tribunals. His career has spanned main board positions in industries as diverse as petroleum and night-clubs. He can assist with TUPE issues in M&A scenarios.
Ian Crichton is a specialist in IT and business transformation solutions such as ERP, SCM, Central Reporting and Business Intelligence. He is a commercially focused MBA with a mixed accountancy and IT background. Client organisations of all sizes benefit from his extensive international experience gained in leading consultancies, software vendors, and private and public sector user organisations, in a broad spectrum of industries. Ian is a PRINCE2 Registered Practitioner.
