If you’ve been a client or friend of Devant for any length of time, you’ll know we’re not happy sitting on our laurels. We’ve used the challenge of multiple lock-downs to take a good look at how we work and deliver our services to you, and see how we can make things even better than they were in the pre-COVID days.

The team is now permanently home based, with well-established policies, processes and communications systems for home working. Our daily team calls and monthly team days enable us to share information, skills and expertise, so that each of us is able to deliver the very highest level of commercial and contracting services to you.

Recently, we enjoyed having everyone together for two fantastic days at the beautiful Tylney Hall in Hampshire, for our July team event.

Growing Expertise

Tiffany presenting to the Devant TeamAs you might know, Devant has been growing its expertise in supporting company sale and purchase transactions through our M&A services. Corporate lending expert Jeff Dober joined us at Tylney Hall, to coach our team on how to find out what’s really happening in a business through examination of the P&L and Balance Sheet (and asking questions about what sits behind them!).

To help the us improve our understanding of our own personal working and communications styles, the team participated in an Insights session with Heidi Wadsworth from RealityHR. There were some great ‘lightbulb moments’, and the Insights gained during the session continue to deliver great value in helping us work together more effectively.

Strategy and Objectives

A strategy and objectives session facilitated by Devant’s CEO, Tiffany Kemp, enabled all team members to see the progress the company has made in the last year and to focus on the activities that will deliver even more value to our clients in the year to come.

Our Charitable Donation

Tiffany also shared the exciting news that the company will be contributing over £22,000 to its two nominated charities. These charities, Launchpad (a Reading-based homeless charity) and YPI Counselling (a young-people’s mental health charity) are both very close to our hearts, and we’re delighted to be able to support them in their essential work in our local community.

The Devant Inner Circle

Emma discusses a contract issue with the teamThe team celebrated the first year of our Inner Circle service. It’s proving very popular with our busy clients, providing a very cost-effective way for high-growth tech companies to access experienced, knowledgeable commercial contracting resources. The Devant team has been thrilled to see how the Inner Circle has helped them establish deeper, stronger relationships with key clients, helping clients to grow their businesses more profitably even in these uncertain times. You can find out more about it here.

Anthony Stears, telephone expert, finished the event with a lively and inspiring session encouraging the team to pick up the phone and make friends with Devant’s lovely clients. So when the phone rings, please be nice to them as they hone their telephone skills!

Fine Tuning Our Processes

The business continues to fine-tune its processes and develop new tools, to further improve quality and expand its range of strategic and tactical commercial contracting and support services. We’re so grateful to you, our clients, friends and supporters, for working with us during the last, challenging, 18 months. We look forward to helping you be even more successful in the months and years to come.
